Spreading Magic to Children Facing Critical Illness

Emmett’s Genies was founded to bring some Magic into the lives of children with critical or life-limiting conditions. We work with our NHS, Hospice & Charity partners to provide boredom relief, small treats, surprises, and memory-making, quality experiences for these children and their families.

Our fundraising aims

Year In A Day Event

Last year we hosted an incredible 24 hour long party for our beneficiaries. 22 critically or terminally ill children and their families attended our unique event, A Year in a Day.

Families arrived at midday on the Saturday and stayed until midday on the Sunday; during that time we hosted a year of celebrations including Valentines, Easter, Summer, Halloween, Guy Fawkes & Christmas.

VR Headsets

Our charity’s vision is to provide a wish kids’ village in England, and the opportunity to bring joy and long-lasting memories to our beneficiary children and their families.

As part of our journey, we have introduced Virtual Reality headsets to provide our beneficiaries with an entire virtual world of experiences and joy and to distract from some of the traumatic procedures and treatments they have to endure.

Boredom Busting Packs

Emmett’s Genies are partnered with several local paediatric services including Buckinghamshire Paediatric Community Service, West Hertfordshire Paediatric Service and Helen & Douglas Hospice.

We work with these services to provide Emmett’s Genies Boredom Busting Activity Packs to critically and terminally ill children.
