In June some Emmett’s Genies Volunteers and trustees successfully completed a mental health first aid course ahead of our Year in a Day event. Although the event is generally a fun filled and magical experience, some parents and siblings can find this special time with their critically or terminally sick child quite emotional.
Now fully trained our mental health first aiders can use their skills all year round to look out for and support people needing time out, a listening ear or direction to individual support services.
